Peptides · Metabolic & longevity (under FDA review)
NNMT inhibitor under research for metabolic effects.
What it does
5-Amino 1MQ is a small-molecule NNMT (nicotinamide N-methyltransferase) inhibitor often grouped with peptides in clinical-research conversations because of its similar regulatory and use context. Research focus is on metabolic and adipocyte biology.
How it works
NNMT methylates nicotinamide, consuming methyl-donor substrates and producing 1-methylnicotinamide. NNMT inhibition by 5-Amino 1MQ may preserve nicotinamide for NAD+ synthesis and modulate adipocyte methylation, with downstream effects on metabolic phenotypes in animal models.
How long it's been studied
5-Amino 1MQ has been studied since the late 2010s in academic and biotech settings. Cannot currently be compounded under 503A.
Dosing
Pending regulatory clarity.
This page is informational, not a dispensing aid. 5-Amino 1MQ is dispensed only on a patient-specific prescription written by a licensed doctor for an identified patient. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and should not be evaluated using branded-drug trial data. Availability varies by state and prescribed medication.
How to access 5-Amino 1MQ through RonanRx
5-Amino 1MQ is currently in Category 2 and not available for 503A compounding. RonanRx is tracking the FDA review and will notify partner clinics when the decision allows compounding access.
