Peptides · Growth-hormone axis (under FDA review)
Earlier-generation GH-releasing peptides.
What it does
GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 are earlier-generation synthetic GH-releasing peptides. They were among the first ghrelin-receptor-targeting peptides and informed development of selective successors like ipamorelin. Under FDA review.
How it works
Both bind the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R) on pituitary somatotrophs to stimulate GH release. GHRP-6 also produces appetite stimulation through additional ghrelin-receptor effects in the hypothalamus, which differentiates it from the more selective successor peptides.
How long it's been studied
GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 were developed in the 1980s-90s. Clinical studies examined their pharmacokinetics, GH-release profiles, and (for GHRP-6) appetite effects. Cannot currently be compounded under 503A.
Dosing
Pending regulatory clarity.
This page is informational, not a dispensing aid. GHRP-2 / GHRP-6 is dispensed only on a patient-specific prescription written by a licensed doctor for an identified patient. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and should not be evaluated using branded-drug trial data. Availability varies by state and prescribed medication.
How to access GHRP-2 / GHRP-6 through RonanRx
GHRP-2 / GHRP-6 is currently in Category 2 and not available for 503A compounding. RonanRx is tracking the FDA review and will notify partner clinics when the decision allows compounding access.
